Where my time is going.
My time is going into Fyuze, Typecta and Onesti Global. Three businesses, plenty to work through, and a growing need to be deliberate about where I put my attention.
What I’m building
I’m working on Fyuze and Onesti Global while growing Typecta’s network of partners and companies across the region. For Typecta, that means finding the right people to build with and being clear about what we can do well together.
I’m interested in what happens after the introductions and the excitement. Who takes responsibility? How does the work get better? Can we grow something that is useful to the people doing the work as well as the people paying for it? Those are the conversations I want to spend time on.
What keeps me thinking
How do we make people’s lives easier and help them make more money, ethically and realistically?
That question keeps coming back, whether I’m looking at a business, a process or a tool. I like finding the thing that is making someone’s day unnecessarily difficult and working out how to change it. Sometimes that means using technology. Sometimes it means having an honest conversation everyone has been avoiding.
I want the advice I give to survive contact with someone’s actual life: their budget, their responsibilities, their energy. There is enough expensive optimism out there already.
Outside the job title
I’m a family man. I want to be present for the people I love, and I’m conscious of how easily work can take whatever space you give it.
Driving, exploring somewhere unfamiliar and finding good food still make a very good day. So does a conversation that starts with a simple question and somehow ends up at the universe, chaos and why any of us are here.
I also remain perfectly capable of interrupting all that profound thinking to straighten something that is slightly out of alignment. Apparently, the universe can be chaotic. The spacing cannot.
What I have room for
I’m saying no to things that waste my time, money or energy. I want to understand what we are trying to achieve, why it matters and whether I can actually help before committing to it.
There is room for thoughtful people, honest questions and businesses willing to act on the answers. If that sounds like what you need, here is how working with me starts.
I revisit this page quarterly, or whenever my priorities change. The date above is when I last reviewed it.
